Lifetime Limited Warranty

Eligible permanent outdoor LED lighting modules are warranted against defects in materials and manufacturing for the original homeowner for as long as they own the property where the system was first installed, subject to this policy.

LED modules have a stated rated operating lifespan of 50,000 hours (subject to supplier specification confirmation). This is approximately 19.6 years at seven hours per day, 13.7 years at ten hours per day, or 11.4 years at twelve hours per day. The rating is an expected operating lifespan under specified conditions, not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation and not itself a cap on the lifetime warranty.

For approved manufacturing defects, SummitLine will supply replacement LED modules without product charge. Replacement parts may be new or functionally equivalent.

Controllers, power supplies, wiring, connectors, extension cables, and aluminum mounting tracks are covered against manufacturing defects for ten years from the original installation date. Approved defective components will be replaced without product charge.

Authorized installing dealers must register installations within 30 days, providing homeowner name, property address, installation date, dealer details, and system details. Late or missing registration may affect voluntary warranty eligibility only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

The original registered warranty may be transferred once to the next homeowner if the property changes hands within ten years of original installation and the new homeowner requests transfer within 90 days of taking possession. The original owner’s lifetime LED coverage ends on transfer. The new owner receives up to two years of applicable limited coverage from possession, without extending any fixed component warranty beyond its original expiry. Subsequent transfers are not available.

Every authorized SummitLine dealer must provide at least one year of workmanship and labour coverage from installation. During this period the installing dealer corrects covered installation defects and supplies labour and applicable service calls for approved manufacturer-warranty replacements without additional labour charges. Dealers may offer longer coverage. After one year, service, removal, and replacement labour may be charged to the homeowner even if replacement products remain covered.

SummitLine supplies eligible warranty replacement products; independent dealers are responsible for their installation and workmanship commitments, except as required by law.

Eligible registered manufacturer product coverage continues if the installing dealer ceases operations. Homeowners may contact SummitLine directly for product claims. SummitLine may help locate another dealer but does not automatically assume the former dealer’s labour obligations, subject to applicable law.

Coverage does not include failures caused by improper installation, unauthorized changes, misuse, physical damage, lightning, surges, fire, flooding, third-party damage, incompatible components, failure to follow instructions, or cosmetic wear that does not impair functionality. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Contact the original dealer, or SummitLine directly if that dealer is unavailable. Provide proof of purchase or installation, registration details, photographs, and a description of the issue when requested. SummitLine may inspect or test the claimed defect. Replacement does not restart the original warranty term.

Landscape, deck, and specialty products may have separate warranty schedules. The lifetime LED warranty applies only to eligible permanent architectural LED modules designated for lifetime coverage.

This policy applies to eligible products purchased through authorized dealers. The warranty terms provided at original purchase govern that installation. Future policy revisions do not retroactively reduce existing contractual rights. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable Canadian law.
